Hannah

Licensed Therapist and Practice Owner

Colorado and Florida

Hi, I’m Hannah Dorsher. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Fort Collins, Colorado—and I’m so glad you’re here.

I help people untangle unhealthy relationship patterns, understand and heal their attachment style, calm anxiety, build self-worth, and work through painful past experiences. My work is all about helping you feel more connected—to yourself, to others, and to the life you want to live.

I specialize in working with college students, young professionals, women, moms, and individuals navigating big life transitions. I especially love supporting moms who want to build secure, connected relationships with their kids and break patterns they don’t want to pass down.

I see clients in person in Fort Collins and virtually across Colorado and Florida. Wherever you're starting from, therapy with me is a space to feel safe, seen, and supported as you grow.

Background and Experience

So... do I know what I’m doing?

Short answer: Yes! And I’m constantly learning and growing so I can show up as the best therapist I can be for the people I work with.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University and my Master’s in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and trained in EMDR. I also hold a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) credential.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked in a wide range of settings—from residential treatment programs for teens to 24/7 crisis centers, primary care clinics, chronic pain groups, outpatient therapy clinics, and I’ve helped to start a suboxone clinic. I’ve supported clients of all ages and backgrounds, and I’ve even managed a clinical team and supervised and mentored other therapists working toward licensure.

In recent years, I’ve focused my work on helping people better understand their attachment style, heal anxious or avoidant patterns, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I also specialize in anxiety, self-worth, and trauma recovery.

As a mom myself, I’m especially passionate about supporting other moms—helping them navigate identity shifts, feel more grounded in motherhood, and create secure, connected relationships with their children (while breaking the patterns they don’t want to pass on).

At the heart of it all, I believe in doing my own work, too. I’m always reading, training, and learning—because you deserve a therapist who’s walking the talk and committed to showing up fully for you.

My Approach

  • Person-Focused

I take a fairly eclectic approach when it comes to therapy—meaning I like to tailor my therapeutic approach to you—the client! I tend to naturally gravitate towards person-focused therapy in which I consider YOU the expert on…you! So I aim to walk alongside you, supporting you, helping you, listening to you—helping you learn how to help yourself move forward.

  • EMDR

I also use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing….I know, it’s a mouthful!). EMDR is an amazing therapy that aims to use eye movements or tapping to help your brain in reprocessing trauma so that the memories are not as emotionally charged. (Check out my EMDR page for more information!)

  • Narrative Therapy

Who doesn’t love a good story? Using Narrative therapy, we will identify the stories you hold about yourself, your life, others, the world, etc. and consider whether the stories are helping you or hindering you. From there we work together to “rewrite” your stories to create the kind of narrative that actually leads to vibrant, passionate living.

  • CBT

I love to use skills-based therapy approaches like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). This therapy approach will help you learn practical skills that will help you to be conscious of, and change, your unhelpful thinking patterns.
